Inari
Leave Canberra behind as you step into a grown-up wonderland of fun, frivolity and fusion inspired by Japan’s evolution from tradition to modernism.
Backdropped to an experiential space, Inari encourages you to leave restraint at the door and pull down your mask for a dining experience interlaced with entertainment and wonder.
Taking its namesake from the Japanese god of rice, Inari is the signature restaurant of Tiger Lane’s own ‘Sushi Shaman’, Shaun Presland. The menu deftly explores traditional Japanese dishes fused with modern Australian flavour, centred around the elite of locally sourced seafood.

Our Vision
The visual brand identity takes inspiration from depictions of Inari, the Japanese god of rice, with the kitsune mask—symbolising mysticism and transformation—featured prominently in the logo. This choice also aligns with the wider Tiger Lane precinct branding, where each venue incorporates an animal icon, creating a sense of cohesion while maintaining individuality.
The brand balances tradition and rebellion, paying homage to Japanese heritage with a bold red, black, and white palette, while introducing a playful yet refined font that underscores the restaurant's vibrant and daring personality. The adaptability of the branding was a key consideration, ensuring the elevated aesthetic seamlessly transitions between the full dine-in experience and the quick-service 'express' format.
Generous use of negative space across design elements emphasises the brand’s dedication to quality and simplicity. This minimalist elegance is juxtaposed with dynamic and playful visuals, such as motion-blurred images of Japanese rock bands and vibrant flag designs, adding energy and intrigue to the stark, modern aesthetic.
Inari’s branding embodies the spirit of its namesake—rooted in reverence for tradition yet brimming with playful rebellion—offering an experience that feels both authentic and entirely unexpected.
